Imagine. Smile. Create. Learn. Explore. Grow. Plan a field trip with us.
Be with Me Playseum is committed to advancing seven different educational initiatives
with active learning experiences in our City Shops and beyond.
To address the rapidly changing world in which we live, it is imperative that children become flexible thinkers and STEM literate. Active learning experiences set with real-world content present children with problem-solving challenges that nurture deep understandings about how the world works and what they can do to influence their own future.
Play experiences, both child-directed and guided, help to build the skills necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarden academics and later throughout the school years. Our School Readiness Initiative builds the following skill sets: Conceptual Thinking, Language, Spatial Awareness, Self-Regulation, Creative & Flexible Thinking, Social Skills, Number Knowledge, and Healthy Bodies.
Financial literacy comes naturally through play as kids experience the concepts of buying, spending, and earning Playseum dollars. Many of our interactive areas offer a kid-sized environment to develop an economic perspective of the world they live in.
Arts and Culture thrive in a variety of our CityShops and throughout our activity bars helping children to develop an appreciation of the world around them. Our Adventure Zones teach children about geography in other parts of our country. The performing arts are emphasized in our Theater. We encourage kids to dress up and put on a show! Opportunity for participation in visual art through various mediums can be found in our Art Room. Creating art allows children to express themselves and helps develop emotional, motor, and problem-solving skills essential to them in their daily lives
We strive to a portion of our proceeds to
We work hard to engage the five senses to trigger the stimulation and storage of memories. Through the interactive experience provided by each room of the Playseum, not only do children learn but they remember what they learn.
Children learn healthy habits at an early age from the example set by the adults around them. Engaging in healthy play reduces the risk of hypertension , diabetes, obiesity, and depression and other serious health problems. Physical and creative play also helps children develop control over their muscles and emotions. It is also important to teach children to include fruits and vegetables in their day. Although the Playseum is a destination for special treats, we strive to offer a fruit or veggie snack as a free group activity following our morning story time.
The general admission for a school field trip is $9 per child and $9 per adult. You will need to put a deposit down of $100.00. The general admission includes access to all of our pretend CityShops where kids use their imagination, play dress-up, and visit our live pet shop. (Groups larger than 20 children are eligible to get a discounted rate of $7 for each adult.)
For groups of children that are 3 years and older we strongly suggest adding on the following:
Ice and Decorate a Cookie $1 Each
Mix up your own toothpaste $3 Each
For groups of children that are 5 years and older we strongly suggest adding on the following:
Paint a Ceramic Tile $5 Each
Decorate a Cupcake $2 Each
Make a Crazy Colored Lotion $3 Each
For field trips with children ages 8 years and older you must purchase a minimum of 5 Playseum Dollars for each child. The children will then get to pick and choose their own items to make at the various Interactive Stations
We ask that you treat our facility with kindness and respect. Please advise and direct your students to take care of each CityShop and place items back where they found them, so the next group through will have a good experience. The Playseum is meant to be a fun-filled place with laughter, singing, dance and movement, but if students from your field trip become a disruption to others or our property, you will be asked to leave and unable to schedule future field trips at the Playseum. Your school will be responsible for damages.
We ask that there is at least a 1:6 ratio of chaperones to kids. If children are under 3 years of age the ratio must be 1:3. If you do not bring the appropriate number of chaperones you will be denied entry but charged for the field trip. Your chaperones are recommended to be engaged with their groups by refraining from using their phones and promoting the use of imaginative play within the Cityshops.
We can accommodate field trips of up to 55 children. Safety and supervision is important to us, therefore chaperones must be 18 years or older.
The time allotted is 2 hours maximum. You may come in from 10am to 12pm or 12pm to 2pm as long as there is availability. Field trips must be scheduled in advance.
For an additional fee of $25, you can choose to bring in your own lunches and then receive an additional 30 minutes in our Playseum eating area.
($25 per eating area, we have 2 available)
Both of our eating areas seat 15 children and four adults, together they can hold up to 30 children at a time. If you have a group of over 25 kids, you must reserve both eating areas.
We can provide a pizza lunch for your kids and staff for $5/person. We will provide paper plates, napkins, one piece of pizza per person, an apple sauce and juice box for the kids and 2 pieces of pizza for adults with a soda or water. Let us know if you would like us to add on the pizza lunch to your package and we will make sure it is nice and hot when you are ready to eat it. We would need to know your lunch order upon booking.
Call first to verify your preferred date and availability.
Email or call us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 240-507-8965
If the date you want is available and you would like to proceed we then will send you a preliminary letter, invoice, and a layout of the Playseum.
At this point, nothing is reserved or put on our calendar until we have heard back from you with a $100 deposit or a credit card to hold the spot.
If we do not hear from you with a deposit or a credit card number within one week of sending you an email with invoice then your group will be removed from our calendar.
You have one week to get back to us with a credit card or school check made out to the Playseum for the deposit to hold the spot. However, if another field trip would like to put down a deposit immediately for that date and time they have first preference.
FULL payment is due upon entry!
If you should cancel or not show up on the expected date the deposit is lost and will not be refunded.
If you left a credit card on file then a $100.00 will be charged to that card as a "NO SHOW" deposit fee. There are NO refunds or credit given even if the number of children that was stated on your invoice happens to be less than the number attending. If you encounter a decrease in numbers after giving a deposit or a credit card number please notify us within 5 days of having received the confirmation otherwise you will be charged for the amount stated on your invoice.
If you have to change the time or date, you will be charged a $10.00 fee. The Playseum reserves the right to refuse entrance to unplanned or unpaid field trips.
All field trips booked between June 15th - August 30th must give a non-refundable $100 DEPOSIT. A credit card number will not suffice.
Please note that field trips are 2 hours and you can add an additional hour for an additional $5 per child. You may also opt to do some additional Playseum dollar activities. Please call us. We look forward to making your Summer Camp Awesome this year!
