Using a GPS? You will need to punch in Chevy Chase instead of Bethesda when entering the city.

Our Entrance is located directly between Orvis Clothing Store & FedX.
Proceed down the stairs to our spacious 4,300 sq ft. Children’s Playseum.
We apologize, but we are not currently handicap accessible. We do have a back door at ground level with one step and this door can be entered through the alley behind Wisconsin Ave. If you need to enter through our back door you must call ahead and we will provide one of our employee parking spots for your vehicle if it has handicap tags.

Parking

You will find street parking with 2 hour meters directly in front of our building.

Want to stay longer? Additional meter parking up to 15 hours is located across the street behind Moby Dick and Don Pollo restaurants. Parking is free on Saturday and Sundays in this parking lot.

There is meter parking on Wisconsin avenue, but please note that cars may not park at the meters on Wisconsin Avenue from 3PM-6PM.  

The Barnes & Noble metered parking lot is two blocks from the Playseum. Park and walk North towards Wisconsin Avenue, turn right at Wisconsin and we are located at the end of the short strip mall between the Orvis building.

Meter parking takes dimes, nickels, and quarters. We always have quarters available for those who would like to exchange some dollars.

(Warning: The city WILL tow your vehicle if you park in front of our building on Wisconsin Avenue after 3pm. If you forget to fee the meter be prepared to get a ticket. The parking lot adjacent to us is owned by the fur company across the street and is not ours. PLEASE DO NOT PARK THERE.  Orvis has paid for three parking spots within this lot and both businesses will tow you if they see you walk into the Playseum.

From the Metro

When you arrive at the top of the escalator of the Bethesda Metro Station you will find the Bethesda trolley stop in front of you. You might have to wait for a few minutes but the trolley will give you a little tour of down town Bethesda before getting off at the Barnes & Nobel Stop. When you get off the trolley you will proceed to cross Bethesda Ave and follow the side walk parrelell to Woodmont Avenue up the entire parking lot until you arrive at Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right at Wisconsin and we are located at the end of the short strip mall between the orange Orvis building. We are also in walking distance from the metro. Proceed south down Wisconsin avenue, and we are located on the right hand side.

We are located diagonally from the Marine Corps Commandants house, and blocks from the Marine Barracks.

Coming from Maryland: take 495 South towards Virginia to The George Washington Parkway into Washington DC. Take the exit for 395 South towards Richmond. Stay left, and take the 6th St. exit. Once off the exit, make a left at the second light, and your second left on G street. Your next left on G street will take you to the Playseum, immediately on your left. 

Parking

There is street parking out front that can be paid by cash or credit card. There is meter parking 2 blocks away for 75 cents an hour. 

From the Metro

We are located 2 blocks away from the Eastern Market metro stop. Just make a right down 8th street South East. The Playseum is on your right!
